Question 2

Each week, members of a local dog-walking group wear reflective bands when walking after dark. Harper and Dev begin wearing the bands after noticing that the other members do so. When asked privately about the bands, Harper says, “I now think wearing one is worthwhile.” Dev says, “I do not think it is worthwhile; I wear it so the group will accept me.” After six weeks, the group stops meeting, although Harper and Dev both continue to walk their dogs after dark on their own.

Using your knowledge of internalisation and compliance, explain which person is more likely to continue wearing a reflective band after the group stops meeting. In your answer, explain what the other person is likely to do.
