In an English lesson, Mia tells her teacher that she is a visual learner and asks to read a new poem silently from the page. The teacher explains that the whole class, including Mia, will listen to the poem being read aloud. Pupils then talk in pairs about what the poet is trying to say, and each writes a few sentences on how the poem's rhythm adds to that message.
Using Willingham's ideas about learning, explain the teacher's decisions and predict what the pupils are most likely to remember from the lesson.
