Leah has only played board games in which players take turns, roll a die and move a counter. She learns a new board game. Players still take turns and move counters, but numbered cards decide how far they move. At first Leah searches the box for a die. By the end of the game, she uses the numbered cards without hesitation. The next week, she is shown an unfamiliar board game in which a spinner decides how far each counter moves.
Explain how Leah's thinking shows assimilation, accommodation and equilibration. Explain how she is likely to interpret the game with the spinner and why.
