An engineer is investigating how connecting multiple heating elements in parallel affects the electrical characteristics of a prototype heater circuit.

Figure 1 shows the engineer's initial test circuit, which consists of a DC battery, a switch, an ammeter, and a single heating element, represented by the resistor symbol labeled H1H_1H1.

Figure 1: Initial test circuit showing a battery, switch, ammeter, and heating element H1.

Modify Figure 1 by drawing:

  • a voltmeter connected to measure the potential difference across the heating element H1H_1H1
  • a second heating element, represented by a resistor symbol labeled H2H_2H2, connected in parallel with H1H_1H1
