A sealed plastic block is placed in two different liquids, Liquid A (concentrated salt water) and Liquid B (pure water), and floats in both.

Diagram showing a rectangular plastic block floating in two beakers. In the left beaker, containing Liquid A, the block floats with only a small portion of its volume submerged below the liquid surface. In the right beaker, containing Liquid B, the same block floats with a significantly larger portion of its volume submerged below the liquid surface.

Explain why a smaller volume of the block is submerged below the surface in Liquid A than in Liquid B.
