During a long delivery route, a driver experiences various conditions that can affect how quickly their van can come to a halt.

Explain how the total stopping distance of the van is affected by:

  • factors involving the driver’s physical or mental state
  • factors involving the van’s condition or the road environment.

In your answer, you should link these factors clearly to thinking distance and braking distance.
