A student uses a digital magnetometer sensor connected to a tablet to measure the local magnetic field in a physics laboratory.

Figure 1 shows the sensor's reading on the tablet before a strong magnet is placed on the workbench nearby.

Figure 2 shows the reading after the magnet is placed on the workbench.
