Figure 1 shows a physics classroom demonstration where two identical ring magnets are threaded onto a vertical wooden rod. Magnet B (the upper magnet) floats in the air above Magnet A (the lower magnet).

Figure 1: A wooden base holding a vertical wooden rod. Two ring-shaped magnets, A and B, are threaded onto the rod. Magnet A sits at the bottom with its South (S) pole facing upwards. Magnet B floats above Magnet A with its South (S) pole facing downwards. Their like poles are facing each other.

Describe the forces acting on Magnet B.
