Question 15
H

A student has a bar magnet, a coil of wire connected to a datalogger, a long plastic tube and a metre rule.

The plastic tube passes vertically through the coil. The magnet can be dropped down the tube so that it falls through the coil.

The student wants to find out how the speed of the magnet affects the maximum potential difference induced across the coil.

Devise an investigation the student could carry out.

Your answer should include how the student would use the measurements to reach a conclusion.
