A schematic diagram of the experimental setup. It shows a vertical plastic tube with a coil of copper wire wrapped around its middle section. The two ends of the wire coil are connected to a digital voltmeter. A bar magnet is held vertically above the coil at a release height, h, which is measured using an adjacent vertical meter ruler.
