Question 33

A coach is tested on a closed road. When travelling at 12 m/s, the coach has a braking distance of 12 m.

The same coach then travels at 18 m/s. The driver's reaction time is 0.70 s.

The mean braking force is the same in both tests. The driver sees a safety barrier 38 m ahead.

Use calculations to determine whether the coach stops before it reaches the safety barrier.
