Question 24

An electric scooter and its rider have a combined mass of 180 kg. They are travelling at 12 m/s when the rider applies the brakes. The brakes exert a constant force of 900 N on the scooter and rider, opposite to the motion.

Calculate the distance the scooter travels from when the brakes are applied until it comes to rest.

Use the equation

v2−u2=2×a×xv^2-u^2=2\times a\times xv2−u2=2×a×x
