Figure 1 shows a spring suspended vertically from a clamp stand.

Various loads are added to the spring as shown in Figures 1b and 1c.

Figure 1a: Unstretched hanging spring next to a vertical ruler. The top of the spring is fixed at the clamp (0 cm mark). The bottom of the spring aligns with the 15 cm mark on the ruler.

Estimate the unstretched length of the spring as shown in Figure 1a.
