Fuel is pumped through an insulating hose into an isolated metal tank. Electrons are transferred to the tank. A spark then occurs between the tank and a nearby earthed conductor.
Which sequence explains the danger?
Charge accumulates; a discharge occurs; fuel vapour may ignite.
Charge accumulates; a discharge occurs; fuel vapour becomes unflammable.
Charge disappears; a discharge occurs; fuel vapour may ignite.
Charge disappears; a discharge occurs; fuel vapour becomes unflammable.
