A student uses a long spanner to undo a wheel nut on a car.
The student applies a force of 150 N at right angles to the spanner, at a distance of 0.24 m from the centre of the nut. Calculate the moment of the force about the nut.
The nut does not move. Give one change the student could make to increase the moment of the force on the nut.
The student then pulls the spanner at an angle, so that the force is no longer at right angles to the spanner. Explain why this reduces the moment of the force about the nut.
