Question 16

A support bracket consists of two triangles. Triangle PQR PQR\,PQR is right-angled at QQQ, with PR=26PR = 26PR=26 cm and QR=10QR = 10QR=10 cm. Side PQ PQ\,PQ is shared with triangle PQSPQSPQS.

In triangle PQSPQSPQS, the angle at vertex S S\,S is 45∘ 45^\circ\,45∘ and the angle at vertex P P\,P is 55∘55^\circ55∘.

Work out the length of the side PSPSPS, marked as xxx, which is opposite the remaining angle in triangle PQSPQSPQS. Give your answer to 1 decimal place.
