Where ice covered the UK

During the last ice age, known in Britain as the Devensian, ice reached its maximum extent about 20,000 years ago. It covered all of Scotland, much of Wales, northern England and upland areas such as the Lake District and Pennines, while southern England was mostly periglacial.
