Asleep on the night bus

Text 1: Terminus, by Felix Marchbank

An original short story extract.

On the night bus home there was only one other passenger on the top deck, a young man in a security guard’s uniform slumped against the front window. His head had dropped on to his shoulder and his mouth hung open. Each time the bus went round a corner, his whole body swayed with it, like washing on a line, but his eyes never opened. A can rolled out of someone’s abandoned bag and clattered along the floor beneath his feet. He did not stir. When we passed the hospital, his phone buzzed in his top pocket, buzzed again, and stopped. I could hear him snoring softly under the rattle of the engine. The bus reached the terminus at Kingsmead and the lights flickered on, white and harsh, and the driver called up the stairs. Still the man slept on.

Give three words or phrases that show the passenger is deeply asleep.
