The fridge outside the library
Text 1: Three times a day, by Nadia Pereira
An original contemporary article.
The community fridge outside the library is stocked each morning with food that local cafés and supermarkets would otherwise throw away. Anyone can open it, and nobody is asked for a name or a reason. In the first few weeks the shelves emptied within an hour, mostly into the bags of the same few people who waited on the bench before opening. The volunteers now restock it three times a day, at nine, at one and at six, so that people who work or have school runs still find something there. A notice also asks everyone to take only what they will use that day. Priya, who checks the fridge each evening, says she rarely finds it bare.
Explain two changes the volunteers made so that the food reached more people.
