Coats that keep out the rain

In this question you will be assessed for the quality of your writing skills. 12 marks are awarded for communication and organisation; 8 marks are awarded for vocabulary, sentence structure, spelling and punctuation.

You should aim to write about 300 to 400 words.

The governors of your school are considering a new rule that students may no longer wear their own coats or carry their own bags. Instead, every student would have to wear the same branded school coat and use the same branded school rucksack. They have invited students and parents to share their views before they make a decision.

Write a letter to the Chair of Governors giving your views on this proposal.

Write your letter.
