What AO3 Requires
What AO3 Requires
AO3 asks you to compare writers’ ideas and perspectives, and the ways those ideas are conveyed, across two or more texts. In this lesson, “4.1” is an internal curriculum reference, not the name of an assessed section in the Pearson Edexcel GCSE English Language 1EN0 papers. Always check the specific paper, section, question, source material, command word, mark value and response form before planning.
Step-by-step lessons on Edexcel GCSE English Language 4.1.4 AO3: compare ideas and perspectives across texts. Each one builds up to exam-style questions. Start with the non-fiction reading and comparison skills before moving on to extended writing, since Component 2 carries the larger 60% weighting and technical accuracy in spelling, punctuation and grammar is assessed throughout.
