Planning a lunchtime skills event
Write a section for a guide for pupils who want to organise a lunchtime event where pupils teach one another a practical skill.
Six pupils have offered to lead demonstrations, and 18 pupils have signed up to attend. The available lunchtime is 40 minutes. Organisers are considering these formats:
| Format | Teaching time | Places | Changeover time |
|---|---|---|---|
| One session | 35 minutes | 20 | None |
| Two sessions | 15 minutes per session | 12 per session | 5 minutes between sessions |
Your guide should help readers choose between the formats and plan an event that is manageable and useful for both presenters and learners. Recommend one format, using the information in the table to justify your choice. You could also advise readers on preparing the demonstrations, organising the event and reviewing it afterwards.
You may also use your own ideas.
Your response will be assessed for communication and organisation, and for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation. The total includes 16 marks for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation.
