The room for everyone

A local newspaper has reported that the council is considering making one room in the community centre a quiet study room throughout its opening hours. The council surveyed 120 young people about what they would use the room for. Each young person selected the one use they would most prefer.

Write a letter to the editor giving your views on the proposal. Use the survey figures to consider whether the room should be reserved for quiet study or used in another way. Explain what your recommendation could mean for young people who want to use the room for different purposes.

Your response will be assessed for communication and organisation, and for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation. The total includes 16 marks for vocabulary, sentence structures, spelling and punctuation.
