The flood map

Text: an original contemporary report-style practice extract.

The neighbourhood mapping group marked flooded doorways in purple and blocked drains in orange. Volunteers walked each street twice, once during the rain and once the following morning. A purple mark did not show the depth of the water; that information was recorded in a separate notebook. Shop owners checked the entries for their own premises before the map was printed. The group kept blank spaces where nobody had supplied a reliable observation, rather than guessing what had happened there.

From the extract, identify two things the group marked on the map.
