Reading the pH scale

Reading the pH scale

The pH scale from 0 to 14, with acidic values below 7, neutral at 7 and alkaline values above 7. Examples include stomach acid at about pH 1, lemon juice at about pH 2, pure water at pH 7, soap solution at about pH 10 and oven cleaner at about pH 13. pH is a number, usually from 0 to 14, that shows how acidic or alkaline a solution is. An aqueous solution is a solution in which water is the solvent, and pH has no unit.
