The full life-cycle footprint

A carbon footprint is the total amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released over the full life cycle of a product, service or event. Greenhouse gases absorb infrared radiation emitted by Earth and transfer energy to the atmosphere, causing warming.
