Think about frying an egg. Once the egg white turns solid, you can never cool it down to turn it back into a runny, raw egg. Many chemical reactions you have studied so far are "one-way streets" just like this, and we use a standard single arrow (→\rightarrow→) to show that they only go in one direction.
