Reactivity decides the method
Reactivity decides the method
The reactivity series lists metals in order of how readily they react. Carbon is a reference point: zinc, iron, and copper are below carbon and their oxides can usually be reduced using carbon. Hydrogen may also appear in a reactivity series, but it is not a metal and is not included in this group.
Step-by-step lessons covering AQA GCSE Chemistry 4.1.3 Extraction of metals and reduction for Foundation and Higher tier. Each lesson works through exam-style questions in Paper 1 and Paper 2 format. Nail the core quantitative topics — moles, balancing equations and calculations — early on, since they underpin higher-tier questions across every paper and topic.
