What employment law covers

What employment law covers

Employment law sets the minimum standards a business must meet when it hires, pays and manages workers. Core employment-law duties apply to small firms as well as large firms, so a business cannot avoid them because it has few employees. However, some requirements, particularly documentation requirements, vary with workforce size. For example, an employer generally only has to record the significant findings of a health-and-safety risk assessment when it has five or more employees.
