Reading a bar gate stock graph

Reading a bar gate stock graph

A bar gate stock graph shows how stock changes over time. The horizontal axis shows time, usually in days or weeks, while the vertical axis shows the level of stock held in units. Key horizontal levels can include the maximum stock level, the re-order level and the minimum or buffer stock level. Stock should not fall below the minimum or buffer stock level before a delivery arrives.
