What is a stakeholder?

Internal and external business stakeholders, with owners, managers and employees inside the business and customers, suppliers, government and the community outside it

A stakeholder is any individual or group with an interest in a business, or who is affected by what the business does. A stakeholder does not have to own part of the business. For example, a customer, supplier or resident living near a factory can all be stakeholders.
