Linked homeostatic responses

Linked homeostatic responses

In hot conditions, body temperature rises. Thermoreceptors detect this disturbance and signal the temperature-control centre in the hypothalamus, which activates corrective responses such as sweating and increased blood flow near the skin. These responses increase heat loss, returning body temperature towards its normal range.
