Using a light microscope

A light microscope uses visible light and glass lenses to produce a magnified image of a thin specimen. Light travels from the lamp, through the condenser and diaphragm, then through the specimen, objective lens and eyepiece lens to the eye. The condenser focuses light onto the specimen, while the diaphragm controls the intensity of the light reaching it.
