Non-communicable Disease and Risk
A non-communicable disease cannot spread directly between organisms. Examples include cardiovascular disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes and diseases caused by nutrient deficiencies. Although these diseases are not themselves transmissible, pathogens can sometimes cause or contribute to them; for example, HPV infection can increase the risk of cervical cancer.
