Hormones carry chemical messages

Endocrine cell releasing hormone molecules into a blood vessel, which carries them to a target cell where they change cell activity

An endocrine gland has no duct and secretes hormones directly into nearby capillaries. A hormone is a chemical messenger carried dissolved in the blood plasma.
