ADH controls water reabsorption

ADH controls water reabsorption

Feedback loop showing concentrated blood detected by the hypothalamus, increased ADH release by the pituitary, increased collecting duct permeability, water reabsorption by osmosis, and restoration of blood water content

Osmoregulation is the control of the body's water and ion content within narrow limits. The hypothalamus monitors blood water content, while the pituitary gland releases antidiuretic hormone, or ADH, into the blood.
