Three Types of Plant Defence

Plants cannot move away from pathogens or herbivores, so they have evolved physical, chemical and mechanical defences. Physical barriers keep microorganisms out, chemical defences attack pathogens or poison herbivores, and mechanical adaptations discourage animals from feeding.
