Where drugs come from

Many drugs were first discovered in plants and microorganisms. Digitalis is a heart drug from foxgloves, aspirin is a painkiller based on a chemical found in willow bark, and penicillin was the first antibiotic, discovered by Alexander Fleming from Penicillium mould.
