Gagnon-Oosterwaal et al. (2012) is a contemporary Child Psychology study that asked whether difficult experiences before international adoption were linked to behaviour problems children reported themselves at about age seven. The study matters because many adoption studies rely on adults' reports, but this one takes the child's own perspective seriously.
