Distinguish between a measure of location and a measure of spread.

- Location: describes how many data values there are (e.g. frequency).
- Spread: describes the total of all data values (e.g. sum).

- Location: describes where the data is centred (e.g. mean).
- Spread: describes how varied or consistent the data is (e.g. standard deviation).

- Location: describes how varied or consistent the data is (e.g. standard deviation).
- Spread: describes where the data is centred (e.g. mean).
