Question 2

Extract: "Architect of Code" (A Memoir, 2023)

"In my field of systems architecture, my analytical precision is highly valued; I have an exceptional IQ and can solve complex algorithmic problems in seconds. Yet, when I sit in face-to-face team briefings, I am completely blind to the silent cues. If a client looks at me with an expression of skepticism or subtle boredom, I fail to register it at all. It is as if the upper half of their face conveys a language I have never been taught. I often wish social cues were as explicit as a line of programming code."

Describe Baron-Cohen et al.'s (1997) study into autism in adults (the original 'Reading the Mind in the Eyes' test) and briefly explain how its findings relate to the extract above.
