Question 24

Article

In 2018, researchers investigated context-dependent memory among apprentice forest rangers. The apprentices learnt identification lists of native tree species in two different environments: in a classroom with slide pictures, and out in a dense, natural woodland. They were then asked to recall the species names either in the environment of original learning, or in the alternative environment. Lists learnt in the woodland were recalled significantly better in the woodland, and lists learnt in the classroom were recalled significantly better in the classroom.

With reference to the article, suggest why this research had high ecological validity.
