Psychologists have explored numerous factors that influence adolescent engagement in classrooms. While many studies focus on digital learning tools or active active-learning strategies, fewer have examined the physical setup of the classroom itself. An educational psychologist interested in ergonomics wants to study whether changing posture affects students' task engagement. They design an investigation to see if Year 10 students exhibit higher levels of engagement when using standing desks compared to traditional sitting desks. The study will take place in a medium-sized secondary school with 180 students in the Year 10 cohort.
