A cognitive psychologist conducted a study to investigate if listening to ambient classical music while reading a text improves concentration and retrieval compared to listening to lofi hiphop beats. An independent measures design was used to test 12 participants. Half of the participants listened to classical music while reading a short passage, while the other half listened to lofi beats. All participants then completed a reading comprehension quiz with a maximum score of 25.
