Alert and focused?
A psychologist wanted to investigate how study environments affect cognitive alertness. To do this, she conducted an independent groups experiment where one group of students studied under high-intensity cool white LED lighting. A different group of students studied under low-intensity warm yellow lighting. After a 30-minute study session, participants were asked to rate their self-reported level of alertness on a scale of 1 (‘extremely sleepy’) to 10 (‘fully alert’).
