Clara is deeply concerned about her brother, Toby, who has been showing worrying behavioral changes. Toby has been experiencing overwhelming anxiety and feelings of intense worthlessness, crying for hours in his room and describing his mind as being 'trapped in a suffocating dark fog.' He tells Clara that this emotional anguish feels physically painful. Clara has also discovered that Toby has started riding his motorbike at speeds exceeding 100 mph through quiet residential streets at night without a helmet. Furthermore, she recently found fresh, deep cuts on his forearms and a collection of toxic household chemicals in his wardrobe alongside notes detailing how they could be mixed.

Discuss the diagnosis of mental disorders in terms of distress and danger. You must make reference to the context in your answer.
