A psychologist conducted a study on observational learning. As part of the procedure, she showed a group of 9-year-old children a video of a 9-year-old boy carefully sharing his limited supply of colored markers with another child who had none. While the children watched the video, the psychologist commented on how incredibly kind and generous the boy was. Later, the children were placed individually in a room with a drawing task, given a large pack of markers, and paired with a companion child who had no markers. The psychologist then observed how the children behaved.
