In a psychiatric genetics study, researchers investigated 150 pairs of monozygotic (identical) twins to determine the concordance of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). The researchers recorded whether both twins in a pair shared the same clinical diagnosis (either both diagnosed with MDD, or both free of MDD) or had different diagnoses (one twin diagnosed with MDD and the other free of MDD).
