Study Scenario: Video Games and the Hot Sauce Paradigm

In an experiment investigating the cognitive priming effects of violent video games on aggressive behaviour, 50 participants were randomly split into two groups. One group played a violent first-person shooter game for 15 minutes, while the other group played a non-violent, puzzle-based video game for 15 minutes. After the gameplay session, participants took part in a food-tasting task where they were asked to prepare a cup of chili-sauce for an opponent who they knew strongly disliked spicy food. Each participant's choice of chili-sauce concentration was classified as either High Heat or Mild Heat.

The researcher used a Chi-Squared test to analyse the resulting nominal data because participants were in independent groups.

Using your knowledge of research into cognitive priming, explain the likely outcome of this study.
