A flat, circular transmitter coil is connected in series with an AC signal generator, an AC ammeter, and a variable resistor. A much smaller circular search coil is positioned coaxially at the center of the transmitter coil, as shown in the experimental setup below.

It is suggested that the relationship between the peak electromotive force (emf) V0V_0V0​ induced in the search coil and the frequency fff of the alternating current in the transmitter coil is given by the expression:
